Imagine waking to the sound of waves, so close you can almost touch them! This beautifully appointed and carefully furnished camp is perfect for your vacation. On the ground floor are the fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, the family room with stone fireplace, master bedroom with king-sized bed, TV room with satellite TV and wi-fi connection and pull-out couch, a full bath with shower and tub and utility room with large washer and dryer. Although not ADA-compliant, there are only two small steps (with grab bars) to the entrance and the first floor permits access to all main rooms including the deck. Also, the first floor bath has grab bars and a raised toilet seat can be provided if desired.
Upstairs are two more bedrooms and another full bath (shower only). One bedroom has a king-sized bed that can be separated to form two twin beds; the second room has two twin beds that can be joined to create a comfortable king-sized bed. Towels and linens are provided. The house has been renovated to meet new stricter Vermont safety standards.
Downstairs, open the sliding doors and walk out to the deck or walk down to your own shale beach and dock. Electric grill, movable fire pit and picnic table are provided. There is a mooring for small boats.
The camp is about a mile from the Basin Harbor Club with its golf course, marina and restaurant. It is a short drive to Vergennes, a quaint town with restaurants, antique and clothing stores and a weekly farmer's market. A bit further are Middlebury and Burlington with their many restaurants and cultural offerings. Parks and hiking trails abound and bicycling is a favorite pastime. There are nearby locations for renting kayaks and canoes.
For added comfort (and due to global warming!), we installed air conditioning at the end of 2018.
