Charming cottage in a pretty wooded setting right on Lake Dunmore on the quieter, south end of the Lake. Wonderful in the fall for "leaf peeping" out your doorstep: beautiful views of the colors in the Green Mountain National Forest right across the Lake. Cozy living room with wood stove (wood provided) which warms the whole cottage. For warmer days, large, comfortable screened porch for dining and lounging. Two bedrooms – one with queen bed, one with twin beds – sleeps 4. Amenities include up-dated kitchen with microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, dishes, etc. provided; BBQ grill; DVD. Gentle beach, large grassy lawn for sunbathing or games. Swim raft, with canoes and rowboat. The best swimming! Hiking, biking, and fishing. Includes great outdoor shower. No smoking. Pets: 1 dog is permitted.
The nearby picturesque towns of Middlebury and Brandon offer good restaurants, bakeries, galleries, antiquing, and shopping. A golf course is nearby. Vermont is the center of the artisanal food movement: farmer's markets, cheese trails, orchards, berry picking, and microbreweries are all close by.
Lots of hiking nearby on the Long Trail. The cottage is a great base for day trips to Shelburne Museum, Lake Champlain, Stowe, Burlington, Fort Ticonderoga, the Adirondacks and lots more.
There are just a few rental days left in this wonderful and in-demand cabin--the weekend beginning Thursday, Oct. 1st to Sunday Oct. 4th, and Oct. 11 (Sunday) til Sunday or Monday, the 18th or 19th--(weekdays or weekend arrangements possible). The cottage sits nestled right by the lake and the views from the cottage in the fall are stunning. With the woodstove warming it and the mist on the Lake this is a terrific get-away. $700 for 7 days; pro-rated for fewer days.
